Fed is Best

Sometimes it's hard to get started with a post, but this one was a request so that makes it much easier and I know at least one person will read it.
This is the story of how I swore I would breastfeed to 18 months, switched to formula entirely by 6 and at 9 months he's eating taco bowls.

Seven Month Baby Gear Update

I had planned on doing a 6 month update on the baby gear we regularly use and love, but I'm a mom now and life gets in the way so here we are at month 7. Not too shabby.

How to create a (kinda) capsule wardrobe when you're (definitely) not a minimalist.

There's a lot of reasons to start a capsule wardrobe, maybe it's a lack of space, for others it could be a way to streamline their style, for me it was being sick of being so overwhelmed with choice and feeling disgusted with my part in consumerism.

A Magic Sheep and Other Newborn Lifesavers

While I was still pregnant I wrote a post about the nursery and other baby product prep with the plan to come back to it after a month of mom life hands on experience.
I'm two weeks late and I still plan on rating all those products with a yes/no/maybe on whether they're worthwhile and why but for now I wanted to throw together a list of my favourites and essentials so far.
Recently we were gifted Ewan the Dream Sheep which is something I never knew existed or thought I needed - how wrong I was.
This sheep is black fucking magic.

Shop Small

I may be a big fan of the beautiful American convenience of Amazon (f r e e d o m), but I'm a bigger fan of supporting small business.
Present buying can be a hard time in the holiday season, and even stores at the mall with "quirky" presents (I'm looking at you Urban Outfitters) have the same stuff you see over and over or don't think of again after you first open them.
There's something about the handmade or limited run that makes something feel so much better in your hands, you want to show it off, you can even get to feel a sense of familiarity with the person that created it via social media and that makes it all the more valuable to you.
So here's a guide of my favourite places to shop, visit and follow

Having a baby (that time I tried to go to Walden Pond again but didn't)

I've been meaning to write all about the last few days of pregnancy and the birth for a little while, but although we have an easy going baby I don't often have any free hands.
Now he's out cold in his Baby Bjorn (thank god) I can share the story of That Time I Had A Baby Completely Differently To How I Had Planned.

Still very pregnant, so here's a nursery tour

Today is my due date...and Dean seems pretty comfortable right where he is. I never had my heart set on him arriving on time and that's fortunate for me because I was still putting together furniture at 8:30 this morning.
I started work on the nursery pretty early on in my pregnancy as I had to clear the entire room, repaint and clean.
Dean's room was once an office and then later the bunk room for bands who stay with us while they record, the latter of which meant I had my work cut out for me when it came to scrubbing walls and floors.
After that was all over I threw myself into researching and comparing every baby product on the market, I thought I'd put together this post to talk about what I ended up choosing then later I'll come back and talk about what we actually used/what's worth the hype.
As is my style this will be an essay so here we go with nesting habits in the age of Pinterest and Amazon Prime.
